Amman. On April 18th, 2018, EDU-SYRIA team held the seventh Quarterly Management meeting at Luminus Technical University College (LTUC) to discuss the Programmes’ progress. The dean of the LTUC, Dr. Ayman Magableh welcomed the president of the German Jordanian University and the Director of EDU-SYRIA Programme Prof. Dr. Manar Fayyad, and EDU-SYRIA Management team. Prof. Fayyad opened the meeting by thanking LTUC and Dr. Ayman Magableh for the generous hosting, stressing the importance of the valuable relationship between the project and LTUC. On Sunday 14 April 2019, The Deputy manager of EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis “Madad”, Ms.Danielle Keulen, visited EDU SYRIA at Luminus Technical University College and opened the EDU SYRIA corner. The EDU SYRIA corner is a study area designated for the program students (almost 500) at Luminus Technical University University (LTUC) to study and gather, thus the facility is equipped with 16 laptops and a library available for all EDU SYRIA students. On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, A delegation from the University of Reykjavik in Iceland visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) to meet EDU SYRIA Team and discuss the possible cooperation. During the meeting, the delegation listened to a presentation about EDU-SYRIA message, goal, and achievements. the delegation was also introduced to “My story” initiative, that aims to give voice to Syrian refugees and vulnerable jordanian students of the program. EDU-SYRIA Social work students at German Jordanian University meet with EDU-SYRIA management team, Dean of the School of Applied Humanities and Languages Prof. Dr. Alaaldeen Alhalhouli, and the Head of Department Social Work Prof. Dr. Christine Hildebrandt, to discuss the challenges they face in their studies and explore the possible solutions.
