German Jordanian University (GJU) is a public school located in Mushaqqar. It was created in 2005 by a Royal Decree, in accordance with a memorandum of understanding reached between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of the Federal Republic of Germany. The University is a “replica” of the German applied-sciences model, characterized by focusing on applying knowledge into practice and promoting knowledge transfer to real life situations.

GJU focuses on offering undergraduate and graduate programs of the highest quality through 9 different colleges that offer over 20 programs where 5,000 students, predominantly Jordanians, are enrolled. GJU will house 30 students of GSSP. It is worth noting that EDU-SYRIA II project is currently constructing a special space, lounge room, for EDU-SYRIA former, current, and future beneficiaries to enjoy its availability especially it will be equipped with several laptop working stations and a modest library that has some textbooks and major references. Needless to say, that the lounge room will be accessible to all GJU students as well.
