German Jordanian University (GJU) is a public university located in Mushaqqar. It was created in 2005 by a Royal Decree in accordance with a memorandum of understanding reached between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of the Federal Republic of Germany. The University is a “replica” of the German applied-sciences model, characterized by focusing on applying knowledge into practice and promoting knowledge transfer to real life situations.

GJU focuses on offering undergraduate and graduate programs of the highest quality through 8 different colleges that offer over 20 programs where 5,000 students,. Furthermore, to cope up with the market need for offering entrepreneurial training and support for youth, GJU has recently established the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH). The mandate of DI-TECH revolves around fostering innovation, facilitating technology transfer, providing career services to GJU students and alumni, and strengthening GJU’s industrial links in Jordan, Germany, and around the world.  In addition, DI-TECH provides employability services, including career counselling sessions, to students and alumni to make sure they are highly competitive in the job market and act as leaders in various industries and organizations. DI-TECH has also established the first business incubator on campus. Through this incubator, the university aims to provide a co-working space and facilities to support students and alumni entrepreneurs in starting up their businesses on campus.
