
EDU-SYRIA V Bachelor’s Degree Scholarships 2026 Are Now Open!

The EDU-SYRIA Programme, funded by the European Union (EU) and managed by the German Jordanian University (GJU), announces the opening of applications for Bachelor’s degree scholarships at Zarqa University for the 2026/2027 academic year. Scholarships are available to Syrian refugees in all specializations except Dentistry.
The application period is open from Thursday, 1st OCT to Thursday 8 OCT till 12:00 pm.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be of Syrian nationality.
- Hold a valid UNHCR Asylum Seeker Certificate.
- Hold a valid Service Card for Syrians issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Interior.
- Have obtained the Jordanian Tawjihi (high school certificate) in 2026.
- Be under 28 years of age.
- Meet all other admission requirements of Zarqa University for the selected specialization.
Selection will give priority to applicants with higher Tawjihi GPAs among those who meet all eligibility requirements.

Required Documents
Applicants must provide:
- A copy of the Jordanian Tawjihi certificate.
- A copy of the Service Card for Syrians issued by the Ministry of Interior.
- A copy of the UNHCR Asylum Seeker Certificate.
Application Process
- Submit the application through https://edu-sys.eu/EduApplications
- Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements and are shortlisted will be invited for an in-person interview.
- All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications.
Important Notes
- Registration through the online application system is mandatory. Applications submitted through other means will not be considered.
- Applicants must have an active email address to create an account on EDU-SYRIA website and complete the application process.
- The entire application process will be conducted online. Applicants are not required to visit the university in person during the application period.
- Submission of an application does not guarantee the award of a scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded to eligible and selected candidates following the established selection process.

The EDU-SYRIA Programme is an educational and humanitarian programme funded by the European Union (EU) and managed by the German Jordanian University (GJU) in partnership with local and international organizations. It serves Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanian youth in Jordan, aiming to improve their livelihood opportunities by providing access to higher and vocational education and enhancing their employability.
A total of 150 Bachelor’s scholarships is currently available under the EDU-SYRIA Programme for the Fall 2026/2027 semester, and will be implemented by Zarqa University (ZU).
The current Bachelor’s scholarships are open only to Syrian refugees residing in Jordan.
The call for applications will open on 27 September 2026 and close on 6 October 2026.

The Bachelor’s programs offered under EDU-SYRIA are carefully selected in cooperation with the implementing partner institutions, with a focus on areas that respond to current labour market needs. The programs are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure that students gain relevant skills aligned with evolving market demands.
No. EDU-SYRIA offers full scholarships only.
No. Applicants who were previously awarded an EDU-SYRIA scholarship but were discontinued from their studies are not eligible to apply for the new scholarships. This is to ensure that the available scholarships can benefit new applicants.
Yes. Previous beneficiaries of EDU-SYRIA scholarships may be eligible to apply for new scholarships, provided that their previous scholarship was successfully completed without any issues or discontinuity, and that they meet the eligibility requirements of the new scholarship. Having a relative who previously benefited from an EDU-SYRIA scholarship does not prevent you from applying.
Yes. Applicants must be 28 years old or younger.

If you need to withdraw for any reason, you should inform EDU-SYRIA immediately. The scholarship may then be reassigned to another eligible candidate.
No. The current EDU-SYRIA Bachelor’s scholarships are offered only at Zarqa University.
Yes. You can apply for multiple programs; however, you must submit a separate application for each program using your individual account. Please note that you can receive a scholarship for only one program so choose wisely.
Selected candidates will be notified by email or phone. Please ensure that the contact details provided in your application are accurate and up to date.
The selection process includes an evaluation of applicants’ academic qualifications, application completeness, and eligibility, as well as successful completion of the interview.
The language of instruction for most programs is English. However, some programs may be offered in Arabic, depending on the implementing institution and the relevant academic department.
No. English proficiency test is not required to apply for the EDU-SYRIA Bachelor’s scholarships.

If you are not selected, you will be notified by email. You are welcome to apply again in the future if you meet the eligibility criteria for a new scholarship opportunity, or to explore other available scholarship opportunities.
Yes. Scholarship recipients are required to maintain the minimum GPA specified by the university and the scholarship agreement. Failure to meet these requirements may result in the loss of the scholarship.
EDU-SYRIA provides various forms of support, including academic advising, mentoring, and workshops to help you succeed in your studies. You will also have access to university resources such as libraries, laboratories, and career services.
Part-time work is permitted, provided that it does not interfere with your academic commitments. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend classes five days a week and participate in all scheduled lectures. As universities may have specific rules regarding student employment, you are advised to consult your academic advisor for guidance.

Yes, you can apply. However, if selected, you will need to transfer from your current university to the university offering the EDU-SYRIA scholarship and either continue in the same field of study or select a new one, subject to the regulations and requirements of both universities. You must also have completed high school during the 2025/2026 academic year.
No. The entire application process is conducted online, so there is no need to visit ZU or GJU in person during the application period.
No. Bridging is not permitted under the current EDU-SYRIA Bachelor’s scholarships.
