Iftar Banquet for Edu-Syria Students
Zarqa, Jordan. On Tuesday, ay 22nd and June 4th, 2018, EDU-SYRIA organized Iftar banquets for 400 students enrolled in the program.
The Iftars were held at Zarqa University and Al-Quds College, respectively with the presence of “Madad” team, representatives of the EU Delegation in Jordan, representatives from the German Embassy in Jordan, the German Jordanian University (GJU) team and both EDU-SYRIA Zarqa and Al-Quds teams.
The Project Manager Dr. Dhiah Abou-Tair stressed the importance to engage with the students in different activities. He also added that Edu-Syria provides Syrian and Jordanian students with a distinguished opportunity to complete their higher education in different fields. Ibrahim Laafia, Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation in Amman, participated in the event with a delegation of EU staff. Stressing the EU support to Education in Jordan, Laafia said: ‘Today all of us can witness the enthusiasm of these young Syrian refugee students, who benefit from the EU support in Jordan in accessing higher education.
The Iftars aimed to bring together students who benefitted from the program, and all those involved in providing this educational assistance and support. The iftar highlighted the EU’s ongoing commitment towards helping Syrian refugees in coping with their current unfortunate crisis.
