On Monday 17/04/2017, a delegation from German Jordanian University EDU- Syria project represented by the director of the project Dr. Dhiah Abou-Tair and the academic supervisor Dr. Ala Khaliefa, in addition to Dr. Awad Alshakh from the UNHCR, visited Zarqa Unversity to meet EDU-SYRIA students for the regular meeting. The delegation listened to the students concerns and questions, along with Dr. Khaled Zayadin from the university and check their academic progress.

On Monday 06/03/2017, a signature ceremony held in the European Union center in Amman to sign EDU-Syria II contract, which is the second phase of EDU-Syria project, committing EUR 11 million to the program funded by ‘Madad’ fund. This project will provide 1000 scholarships for the Syrian refugees and unprivileged Jordanians in the refugee hosting communities in cooperation with Jordan University of Science and Technology, Zarqa University and Al-Quds College.
