On Thursday, March 15th, 2018, EDU-SYRIA academic coaches in Zarqa Universty in coordination with King Abdullah II Fund for Development/ Career Guidance & Alumni Office Organized a “CV writing & preparation for Interview” Workshop for EDU-SYRIA Graduates. The workshop objective is to help the students to create a professional CV. It was presented by Ms. Rawan Ass’ad; a Career Guidance specialist, during which she explained to the students the ” Holland’s test” to discover their career Interests.
On Wednesday 14th of March 2018, a delegation from German Jordanian University EDU- SYRIA project represented by the Project Manager Dr.Dhiah el Diehn Abou-Tair, the academic supervisor Dr. Ala Khaliefa, project manager assistant Eng. Mohanad Batarseh, and Eng.Dima Shihan visited Zarqa Unversity to meet EDU-SYRIA students for the regular meeting. The delegation listened to the students’ concerns, questions, suggestions, along with Dr. Khaled Zayadin from the university and checks their academic progress, to help them be more successful. The delegation also introduced to the students their new academic coaches Ms. Dima Sebai and Mr. Ibrahim Alhariri.

Mr. Job Arts, the EU representative and Dr. Dhiah Abou-Tair, EDU-SYRIA project manager have joined the visit of 24 EDU-SYRIA students from both Zarqa University and Al Quds College to Petra Engineering Industries. A team of students who are funded by the EDU-SYRIA project participated in the MOBADERON (Initiators) competition held at Al Zaatari Camp. 109 Initiative participated in the competition, and the EDU-SYRIA students’ team won the initiative to establish a student committee to serve students in Al Zaatari Camp, which will provide many services to the students of the camp, including: Internet service and scientific research Print service Provide a comfortable and quiet place to study Help the students to apply for different scholarships in both languages English and French Enhance the English-language skills of students Various activities

In the week from 10th until 17th of October 2017, a monitoring visit from an independent observer Ms. Kai Raja on behalf of the EU visited EDU-SYRIA project, in order to evaluate the progress of the project, and during this visitation she met with the project partners Yarmouk University, Al Quds College, and Zarqa University. On Thursday 5 October 2017, the Edu-Syria program managed by the German Jordanian University and funded by the EU Regional Trust Fund, the ‘Madad’ Fund, ran the last stage of granting Edu-Syria scholarships to Syrian refugee students for several bachelor programs at Zarqa University. The total number of applicants was 1100 who competed on 130 scholarships. The applicants were shortlisted to around 180 where the priority was given to Syrian refugees who completed their secondary school in Jordan this year (2017). On Thursday 25/05/2017, EDU-SYRIA team organized a trip to Jarash and Dibbeen for one hundred and forty two EDU-SYRIA I students in Zarqa university to engage them with the Jordanian culture and heritage. The trip started in Jarash from the Roman city where they the students guided by local certified tourist guides. The guides explain for students about the great ancient city and its history.
