Results of EDU-SYRIA/ EDU-JORDAN Scholarships for 2022
The EDU-SYRIA/EDU-JORDAN Scholarship Programme funded by the European Union through the Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis (Madad Fund), and managed by the German Jordanian University and in partnership with several Jordanian and international educational institutions, has awarded 70 fully-funded scholarships for Vocational Training Diploma programms at Luminus Technical University College and Bachelor’s programms at Zarqa University, for Syrian refugees for the second semester of the academic year 2021/2022.
After evaluating the total of 820 applications for the Bachelor’s scholarships and 296 for the vocational Training Diploma scholarships, and filtering out the applications that comply with the announced conditions (mentioned again below), 54 applicants were interviewed at Zarqa University for the bachelor’s scholarships on the 5th &10th /03/2022, and all applicants for the vocational Training Diploma scholarships were interviewed once they submitted a completed application.
A total of 40 Syrian students were accepted for the bachelor’s degree and 30 Syrian students were accepted into the Vocational Training Diploma programms at Luminus Technical University College.
Therefore; The students accepted for the scholarships for the current year are of the following categories:
First: Bachelor’s degree at Zarqa University for Syrian refugees
- Students who obtained the Jordanian General Secondary School Certificate (Tawjihi) for the year 2021 (regular or complementary study and from the host communities or the refugee camps) and whose averages are equal to or higher than the minimum for admission.
- The minimum accepted General Secondary Certificate averages are 87.1% for the regular study students from the urban setting/host communities (outside the refugee camps), 92.8% for the complimentary study students from the urban setting/host communities, and 85.7% for the complimentary study students from the refugee camps.
Second: Vocational Traning Diploma at Luminus Technical University College for Syrian refugees
- The minimum accepted General Secondary Certificate average is 73.25%.
- Students who obtained the Jordanian General Secondary School Certificate (Tawjihi) for the year 2021 for the first time (regular or complementary study) and whose averages are equal to or higher than the minimum for admission.
It is worth noting that the registration for the scholarships was opened on Sunday, 06/02/2022, and closed on Monday, 28/02/2022, according to the following conditions:
Acceptance Criteria for Syrian Refugees:
- The applicant must be a Syrian refugee who reside in Jordan.
- The applicant must be has a Jordanian magnetic security card.
- The applicant must be Has a registration document for refugees issued by the UNHCR.
- The applicant should not be older than 28 years.
- The applicant obtained the General Secondary Certificate (Tawjihi) for the first time in 2021, (regular or complementary study).
- The applicant obtained an initial acceptance document from Zarqa University or Luminus Technical University College.
- The applicant should not be regestered at any other university or scholarship.
- The priority will be given to candidates with the higher GPA and satisfy the previous conditions.
