Results of EDU-SYRIA/ EDU-JORDAN Scholarships for 2021

The EDU-SYRIA/EDU-JORDAN Scholarship Programme funded by the European Union through the Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis (Madad Fund), and managed by the German Jordanian University and in partnership with several Jordanian and international educational institutions, has awarded 68 fully-funded scholarships for Vocational Training Diploma programms at Luminus Technical University College and Bachelor’s programms at Zarqa University, for underprivileged Jordanian youth and Syrian refugees for the academic year 2020/2021.

After studying the applications for the scholarships that comply with the announced conditions (mentioned again below), a total of 36 Syrian students were accepted for the bachelor’s degree, 18 Syrian students and 14 Jordanian students were accepted into the Vocational Training Diploma programms at Luminus Technical University College.

Therefore; The students accepted for the scholarships for the current year are of the following categories:

First: Bachelor’s degree at Zarqa University for Syrian refugees

  1. The minimum accepted General Secondary Certificate average is 82%.
  2. Students who obtained the Jordanian General Secondary School Certificate (Tawjihi) for the year 2021 for the first time and whose averages are equal to or higher than the minimum for admission.
  3. Students of private study who have completed successfuly the requirements for admission to universities for the first time in 2021.

Second: Vocational Traning Diploma at Luminus Technical University College for Syrian refugees

  1. The minimum accepted General Secondary Certificate average is 65%.
  2. Students who obtained the Jordanian General Secondary School Certificate (Tawjihi) for the year 2021 for the first time and whose averages are equal to or higher than the minimum for admission.

Third: Vocational Traning Diploma at Luminus Technical University College for Underprivileged Jordanian

  1. The minimum accepted General Secondary Certificate average is 57%.
  2. Students who obtained the Jordanian General Secondary School Certificate (Tawjihi) for the year 2021 for the first time and whose averages are equal to or higher than the minimum for admission.

It is worth noting that the registration for the scholarships was opened on Sunday, 05/9/2021, and closed on Sunday, 26/09/2021, according to the following conditions:

First: Acceptance Criteria for Syrian Refugees:

  1. The applicant must be a Syrian refugee who reside in Jordan.
  2. The applicant must be a resident of refugee-camps in Jordan for the Baceholr’s scholarship, and only Zaatari refugee camp residents for Vocational Training Diploma Scholarships.
  3. The applicant must be has a Jordanian magnetic security card.
  4. The applicant must be Has a registration document for refugees issued by the UNHCR.
  5. The applicant should not be older than 28 years.
  6. The applicant obtained the General Secondary Certificate (Tawjihi) in 2021, regular study only .
  7. The applicant obtained an initial acceptance document from Zarqa University or Luminus Technical University College.
  8. The priority will be given to candidates with the higher GPA and satisfy the previous conditions.

Second: Acceptance Criteria for the underprivileged Jordanians:

  1. The applicant must be a Jordanian citizen.
  2. The applicant or their family must be a beneficiary of the National Aid Fund, or Zakat Fund, or Al Aman fund, or Tikyet Um Ali.
  3. The applicant should not be older than 28 years.
  4. The applicant obtained the General Secondary Certificate (Tawjihi) in 2021, regular study only .
  5. The applicant obtained an initial acceptance document from Zarqa University or Luminus Technical University College.
  6. The priority will be given to candidates with the higher GPA and satisfy the previous conditions.
