Graduation of YWCA’s Beneficiaries

Young Women`s Christian Association (YWCA – Jordan) held a graduation ceremony on Tuesday 14th of March 2023 for Syrian refugee and vulnerable Jordanian beneficiaries who completed Health Caregiver Vocational Training for elderly accredited by Technical and Vocational Skills Development Commision.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Lara Nassar, the Regional Nuffic Office Representative, Dr. Abdelkareem Al-Lasasmeh, the Project Manager, and Ms. Nawal Qusar, President of YWCA.

The YWCA’s project is one of the “Bottlenecks Alleviation Program (BAP)” selected projects. BAP is implemented by Nuffic and funded by EDU-SYRIA through the European Union Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis “Madad”.

The project provided a viable solution as there is a huge demand on home health care for elderly. The Health Caregiver Vocational Training is composed of 500 hours including theoretical and practical training and field visits to nursing homes such as Golden Age Home and Darat Samir Shamma.

After their graduation, a number of these beneficiaries signed contracts with a private company to start their immediate employment.
