
EDU-SYRIA Scholarship Programme Conducted Interviews at Zarqa University for Syrian Refugee Bachelor’s Scholarships
EDU-SYRIA Scholarship Programme funded by the European Union (EU) and managed by German Jordanian University (GJU) on 21 September, 6 & 12 October 2025 successfully conducted interviews at Zarqa University to select Syrian refugee applicants for its bachelor’s degree scholarships for the academic year 2025/2026. Over the course of three sessions, A total of 159 applicants were invited to participate across three sessions (46 of them in the first session, 58 of them in the second session, and 55 of them in the third session), demonstrating their motivation and commitment to pursuing higher education in Jordan.
The interviews were organized and conducted by the EDU-SYRIA team in collaboration with Zarqa University, a key partner in the program, resulted in the selection of 103 candidates for the scholarships. The distribution of selected candidates was as follows:36 candidates in the first session (21 September 2025), 31 candidates in the second session (6 October 2025), and 36 candidates in the third session (12 October 2025) Applicants were evaluated based on academic merit, personal motivation, and their readiness to undertake and commitment in undergraduate studies. The process reflects EDU-SYRIA commitment to providing equitable opportunities for Syrian refugee students seeking quality education in Jordan.

EDU-SYRIA Scholarship Programme is funded by the EU and aims to enhance the academic prospects and social integration of Syrian refugee students in Jordanian universities through fully funded scholarships. Zarqa University’s partnership in this program underscores its dedication to inclusivity, education, and community development.
