DAAD Holds Academic Gathering and AI Workshop for EDU-SYRIA Master’s Scholarship Students.

Amman, Jordan — 8 July 2026

On 8 July 2026, the DAAD Regional Office Amman, with funding from the European Union (EU), organized an academic gathering for currently enrolled EDU-SYRIA master’s scholarship students from a number of Jordanian universities at the Mövenpick Hotel in Amman. The event was attended by 29 students and provided an opportunity for participants to connect with one another and engage with the scholarship team, fostering collaboration and strengthening the academic community. Attendees shared their educational experiences, discussed expectations for research and academic development, and explored opportunities for future collaboration.

The gathering also featured a training session titled “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Higher Education”, delivered by Dr. Alaa Khalifeh from the German Jordanian University/ EDU-SYRIA team. The session introduced participants to practical applications of AI in teaching, learning, and academic research, highlighting emerging tools and best practices to support their studies.

The event concluded with a networking lunch, giving participants a further opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen professional relationships in an informal setting.
