Yesterday, An editor’s delegation of European newspapers, visited the University of Zarqa, during the meeting they met with the manager of the EDU-SYRIA project, and students who have benefited from the Scholarship through the European Union. The president of Zarqa University Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al Wadi welcomed the delegation, and provided them with an overview of the disciplines and the colleges within the university. Monitoring visit by independent observer on behalf of the EU

Last week, from 2nd until 10th of November 2016, a monitoring visit from an independent observer (Ms. Denise Colonna) on behalf of the EU visited EDU-SYRIA project, in order to evaluate the progress of the project, and during this visitation she met with the project partners Yarmouk University, Al Quds College and Zarqa University. EDU-SYRIA Third round interview at Zarqa University

Today the EDU-SYRIA II project delegation visited Zarqa University, during this meeting they met with student candidates for admission, totaling 300 students for the first semester of the academic year 2016/2017. This meeting was attended by EDU-SYRIA project manager (Dr. Dhiah Abou-Tair), the academic supervisor (Dr. Ala’ Khalifeh), a representative from the UNHCR (Dr. Awad El-Shiekh) and the British Council, and the students’ questions and inquiries were answered. The European Union (EU) officially approved the New starting of EDU-SYRIA II which is funded by EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian crisis, the ‘Madad Fund’. The EU and its Member States have come together to create the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis, also called the ‘Madad Fund’ (‘Madad’ is Arabic and means ‘helping together’) to increase immediate and much needed aid to the millions of Syrian refugees in the Middle East and their host communities. EDU-SYRIA interviews 150 applicants at Zarqa University

EDU-SYRIA conducted the interviews for the second cohort in the scholarship program in Zarqa University. The total number of received applications is 1069 and after a verification and filtering process 150 applicants were interviewed, out of which 46 Syrian were granted an EDU-SYRIA scholarship.

EDU-SYRIA Visited Al-Za’atara to interview Syrian students

A team from German Jordanian University , Zarka University and UNCHR visited Camp to conducted interviews with candidates who interrupted their studies in Syria. The committee interviewed 21 candidates, 18 were offered conditioned admission given they finish all documents.

Starting from 3/6/2016 and till 18/6/2016, EDU-SYRIA scholarship program is accepting applications for the second round of the program which is targeting interrupted students seeking a Bachelor degrees.
