
Bachelor Degree Scholarship 2025
The EDU-SYRIA/EDU-JORDAN program, funded by the European Union and managed by the German Jordanian University, announces that the door is now open for Syrian refugees to apply for Bachelors degree scholarships at Zarqa University (all specializations except dentist) for the upcoming academic year 2025/2026.
The registration period is open from Monday 18/08/2025 to Sunday 31/08/2025.
1. Applicants must be:
- Syrian nationality.
- Younger than 28 years old.
- The candidate should hold a the UNHCR Asylum Seeker Certificate.
- The candidate should hold the security card (Ministry of Interior card) for Syrian.
- Obtained the high school certificate (Jordanian Tawjihi) in 2025.
- The priority will be given to candidates with a higher GPA and satisfy the previous conditions.
2. Required documents:
- A copy of the high school certificate (Jordanian Tawjihi).
- Copy of the security card or Syrians (Ministry of Interior card).
- Copy of the UNHCR Asylum Seeker Certificate.
3. The registration process:
- Apply for the scholarship through the online application system.
- The best candidates, who meet the requirements, will be invited to an interview.
- All applicants will be informed whether they were accepted or not.
4. Important notes:
- Registration in the online application system is mandatory and no application will be considered otherwise.
- The applicants should have an active email to create an account on the online application system.
- All the application process will be conducted completely online, and there is no need to come to the university physically.
- This call for scholarships and the resulting selection process will be done in collaboration with the UNHCR

What is EDU-SYRIA Scholarship Program?
The EDU-SYRIA Scholarship Program is a humanitarian initiative funded by the European Union to improve the livelihood opportunities of Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanian youth, by providing access to higher and vocational education and enhancing their employability.
How many Bachelor scholarships are currently available in EDU-SYRIA?
o 30 scholarships available.
o For the Fall 2025/2026 academic year.
o Implemented by Zarqa University (ZU).
Who can apply for the current EDU-SYRIA Bachelor Scholarships?
Only Syrian refugees residing in Jordan.
When will the call for applications be available?

How do I apply for the scholarship?
Interested students can apply directly online through the EDU-SYRIA portal by following the detailed instructions provided in the call for applications.
Is the EDU-SYRIA program limited to designated subjects of study or degrees?
The programs offered by EDU-SYRIA are carefully selected in cooperation with the implementing partner institutions, targeting the most needed job opportunities. The programs are continuously updated to align with current market demands and ensure that students gain relevant skills for the evolving job market.
Can I apply for a partial scholarship?
No, EDU-SYRIA offers complete scholarships.
If I was discontinued from my studies in the past versions of EDU-SYRIA, can I apply again for the new scholarships available?
No, you have already had the chance, and we aim to maximize the benefits from the available scholarships offered by EDU-SYRIA.
If I or any of my relatives benefitted from EDU-SYRIA scholarships, can I apply for another new scholarships available?
Yes, EDU-SYRIA aims to support Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanian youth, even if they have previously benefited from EDU-SYRIA scholarships. As long as the previous scholarship was successfully completed without any issues or discontinuity, you are eligible to apply for new scholarships.
Is there an age limitation for applying?
Yes, the age limit is 28.
What if I encounter issues during the application process?

What happens if I need to withdraw from the program after being awarded the scholarship?
If you need to withdraw for any reason, you should inform EDU-SYRIA immediately. The scholarship may then be reassigned to another eligible candidate.
Can I apply to more than one university of a specific educational program?
Yes, you may select more than one university. However, be sure to choose the institution(s) that best aligns with your academic and career goals.
How will I know if I have been selected?
Selected candidates will be notified by email or SMS. Please ensure that the contact details you provide are accurate and up-to-date.

What is the selection process like?
The selection process includes an evaluation of your academic qualifications, the completeness of your application, adherence to the eligibility criteria, and passing the interview.
Can I apply for more than one program?
Yes, you can apply for multiple programs, but you will need to submit separate applications for each program for your individual unique account. However, you can only receive a scholarship for one program, so choose wisely.
What is the language of instruction?
The language of instruction for most programs is English. However, some programs may be offered in Arabic, depending on the partner institution and the associated department.
Do I need to take an English proficiency test?
No, the English proficiency is not required for the Bachelor scholarships.
What if I do not have all the required documents at the time of application?
It is important to submit all required documents by the application deadline, as incomplete applications may not be considered. If you have extenuating circumstances, please contact us for guidance.
How do I know if my application has been received?
After submitting you’d application online, return to the main page and press on “do you want to ensure that you have applied for the scholarship”, finally ensure that the status of your application is “submitted by the student”
What happens if I am not selected for the scholarship?
If you are not selected, you will be informed via email. We encourage you to apply again in the future if you continue to meet the eligibility criteria or to explore other scholarship opportunities that may be available.
Will I be required to maintain a certain GPA during my studies?
Yes, scholarship recipients are required to maintain a minimum GPA as specified by the university and the scholarship agreement. Failure to meet these GPA requirements may result in the loss of the scholarship.
What kind of support is available once I start my studies?
EDU-SYRIA provides various forms of support, including academic advising, mentoring, and workshops to help you succeed in your studies. You will also have access to university resources such as libraries, labs, and career services.
Can I work while studying under this scholarship?
Part-time work is typically permitted, but you need to ensure that it doesn’t conflict with your academic commitments, including attending classes five days a week and participating in all of your scheduled lectures. Some universities may have particular rules regarding student employment, so it’s advisable to consult your academic advisor for guidance.

Can I apply for an EDU-SYRIA scholarship if I am currently studying at a different university?
o No, only for new students who completed high school in 2025.
Is it necessary to visit ZU or PSUT or GJU to apply for the scholarship?
No, the entire application process is conducted online, so there is no need to visit ZU, PSUT, or GJU in person.
Is bridging permitted under the current available scholarships?
No, bridging is not permitted for these scholarships.
