Academic Meeting at Zarqa University

The Academic Committee of the EDU-SYRIA Program held an academic meeting with EDU-SYRIA students at Zarqa University on Wednesday, 8-17-2022, over two separate sessions at Muaath Alkasasbeh Auditorium on the ZU campus.

The meeting included Dr. Ala’ Khalifa, EDU-SYRIA Academic supervisor, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Hariri, EDU-SYRIA Academic Advisor at Zarqa University, and more than one hundred and a half students from the program beneficiaries. This meeting comes within a group of activities and events organized by the EDU-SYRIA Program at Zarqa University and partner institutions, which aim to monitor the program’s work movement at Zarqa University, follow up on students, and hear their observations, suggestions, and aspirations.

 The meeting was opened by Dr. Ala’ with a welcoming speech in which he reviewed the students’ academic performance during the recent period. After that, Dr. Khalifa began his speech by reviewing the most prominent topics that touched their university life, stressing the need for students to commit to excellent academic performance that would enable the students to continue to benefit from these scholarships. . Dr. Khalifa drew attention to some of the observations facing the students and explained some points related to the academic warning system and certificates of excellence granted to motivate and encourage students to continue their academic excellence. Dr. Khalifa referred to the need for students to be involved in the activities carried out by the EDU-SYRIA Program and Zarqa University, which contributes to refining the students’ personalities at this stage.

 In his turn, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Hariri pointed out the most important matters of interest to students and explained some points related to student requests via the EDU-SYRIA system and how those requests are reviewed. He also referred to the distinguished academic performance of the EDU-SYRIA scholarship students at Zarqa University and praised some of the awards that some students received on an individual level in various competitions.

At the end of the meeting, the academic committee listened to the students’ observations and took notes about their inquiries to be followed up in the coming period.

During the meeting, the Academic Committee honored the outstanding students and awarded them certificates of excellence in appreciation of their efforts and high academic performance.

In the end, the students thanked EDU-SYRIA Program and Zarqa University for the attention and care they provide to the students.
