The Eighteenth Consortium Management Meeting at the German Jordanian University (GJU)

On June 19, 2025, EDU-SYRIA project, funded by the EU and managed by the German Jordanian University (GJU), convened the eighteenth consortium management meeting at GJU. The meeting gathered the EDU-SYRIA management team, the representative of the European Union Delegation to Jordan, and representatives from the project partners, including Zarqa University (ZU), Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA), Luminus Technical University College (LTUC), Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The goal of the meeting was to review the project’s overall progress, highlight achievements, and plan the next steps. The discussion covered four main topics:

– The team gave a full update on EDU-SYRIA’s progress and recent developments.

-The group discussed key successes of the EDU-SYRIA III project, the status of the Entrepreneurship Training Scholarship Program (ETSP), and reviewed results from the tracer study on both educational and non-educational programs.

– Updates were provided on the components of EDU-SYRIA IV (the Bachelor’s Scholarship Program  (BSP) that are currently being implemented by the ZU and Princess Somaya University of Technology (PSUT), and plans were outlined for the upcoming parts that have yet to begin. Additionally, Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU) has officially joined the EDU-SYRIA consortium as a new implementing partner for the VESP component under EDU-SYRIA IV.

– Partners discussed progress toward goals, challenges faced, and shared recommendations for the coming phase.

It is worth noting that the purpose of the quarterly meeting is to assess the project’s progress and discuss how the activities are being implemented.
