EDU-SYRIA Program Holds Regular Academic Meeting at Zarqa University for New EDU-SYRIA IV Scholarship Students

On Thursday, October 17, 2024, the EDU-SYRIA Scholarship Program held an academic meeting to welcome new students awarded the EDU-SYRIA IV scholarship at the conference hall of Zarqa University. The meeting brought together the EDU-SYRIA academic committee, including Dr. Ala’ Khalifeh, the Academic Supervisor for the EDU-SYRIA project; Dr. Khaled Al-Zeaideen, Dean of Admission and Registration at Zarqa University; and Mr. Ibrahim Al-Hariri, EDU-SYRIA Academic Advisor at Zarqa University, with approximately 250 newly admitted EDU-SYRIA IV scholarship students, along with several enrolled students.
Dr. Khaled, who welcomed the new students, explaining the nature of university life and introducing them to key university services they would need to know. He emphasized Zarqa University’s commitment to providing the new students with the necessary resources to support their educational journey.
Dr. Khalifeh highlighted the importance of the opportunity given to the accepted students, urging them to preserve this chance by following project guidelines and adapting to the university life. He introduced the EDU-SYRIA team and the academic committee, encouraging continuous communication with them. Dr. Khalifeh also emphasized the team’s dedication to supporting students academically and recognized the successes of past students that have enriched the project, expressing hope that the new students would follow the same path. He also reminded students of the importance of extracurricular activities offered by the university, such as workshops, training sessions, and courses, which help in character development.
Mr. Al-Hariri then explained the work process of the academic committee and the functionality of the EDU-SYRIA project platform, which provides services to maintain effective communication between students and the scholarship team. He also provided an overview of the warning regulations and the excellence certification process, encouraging students to take advantage of the recommendation letters provided by the project administration for outstanding students.
Following this, the academic committee honored distinguished and high-achieving students and distributed available laptops to students in need.
At the end of the meeting, the academic committee addressed students’ questions, suggestions, and feedback. The students expressed their gratitude to the EDU-SYRIA project administration and Zarqa University for their continuous support, promising to meet the program’s high expectations.
