103 Additional Scholarships Awarded for the 2025/2026 Academic Year under EDU-SYRIA Programme

Amman, Jordan — 20 October 2025 — EDU-SYRIA is pleased to announce the results of its Bachelor Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2025/2026. The programme received 817 applications. After eligibility screening, 159 candidates were interviewed across three rounds, and 103 applicants have been awarded scholarships. These 103 scholarships are in addition to the 400 scholarships originally foreseen under the current contract; through prudent budget management, additional funds were made available to accommodate the very high demand for scholarships among Syrian refugees.

Eligibility was limited to applicants who are Syrian refugeeshold a magnetic security card, are resident in Jordanhold a UNHCR refugee registration document, are under 28 years of age, and successfully completed the online application via the EDU-SYRIA portal. In line with the programme’s merit-based approach, priority was given to candidates with a GPA of 88% or higher who fully met all eligibility criteria.

To ensure stability and continuity in their education, the 103 awardees have chosen to pursue their studies in Jordan under the EDU-SYRIA IV Bachelor track, while retaining the option to return to Syria upon graduation and contribute their knowledge and skills to their communities after the reconstruction of Syria. Scholarships have been distributed across 20 academic disciplines, spanning Translation, Pharmacy, Information Technology, Engineering, and other fields aligned with labour-market needs and supporting enterpenuraila activities.
