Project Officer position

A project officer position in the field of higher education is available at the German Jordanian University for EDU-SYRIA /EDU-JORDAN project.

EDU-SYRIA is an EU funded project that helps Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians from host communities to get access to higher education through a set of scholarship programs. the total fund of the project is 17.6 million Euros. The project is managed by the German Jordanian University (GJU) and in partnership with Jordan University for Science and Technology, Yarmouk University, Zarqa University, and Luminus Technical University College. The project also cooperates closely with Jordanian institutions that help vulnerable Jordanians such as the National Aid Fund, Tkiyet Um Ali and Al-Aman Fund.

About the role:
The Project Officer shall execute the various functions according to the schedule below:

  • Maintaining project documents which track project progress
  • Prepare project documentation, fact sheets, and other written materials for the general public
  • Maintaining project schedule, monitoring deadlines for each project task
  • Contribute to the regular project reporting
  • Attend meetings at the EU and partner universities
  • Liaise with other team members in order to obtain timely information and update
  • Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the project manager
  • To further develop, implement and monitor the communication and visibility strategy of EDU-SYRIA project
  • Prepare and periodically update the project website
  • Prepare project documentation, fact sheets, and other written materials for the general public
  • Conduct public events


  • University degree

Job Requirements:   

  • Fluency in the English and Arabic languages spoken and written
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office application especially Publisher, PowerPoint, Desirable knowledge in graphic design, editing, photoshop
